The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Plateau State has warned those without the Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs to stay away from polling units during tomorrow’s elections.
INEC reiterated that only those in possession of their PVCs would be allowed into polling units even as card readers would be deployed for the April 11, 2015 elections.
In a statement signed by the Head, Voter Education and Publicity, Osaretin Imahiyereobo, the commission said that it had taken adequate measures to ensure that the card readers do not pose any challenge during the exercise.
According to him, “The Commission has reviewed the operation of the card readers in the March, 28th elections, identified the challenges and has taken adequate measures to address them.
“Card readers are to be deployed for the April, 11 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections in the State.”
He assured that if the card readers malfunctioned and cannot be replaced within a specific period, voting will continue the next day.
