Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo, his Ekiti state counterpart, Ayodele Fayose as well as Governors Sule Lamido of Jigawa, Isa Yuguda (Bauchi), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Gabriel Suswam (Benue) and Ibrahim Shema (Katsina) were reportedly absent at a meeting between President Goodluck Jonathan and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors in Abuja Wednesday.
At about 4:45pm, the chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Akwa Ibom State Governor Godswill Akpabio led his members to the meeting being held at the State House.
The governors in attendance were Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe), Ramalan Yero (Kaduna), Lyel Imoke (Cross River), Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Sullivan Chime (Enugu), Jonah Jang (Plateau), Martin Elechi (Eboyin) and Idris Wada (Kogi).
Of the absentees only Fayose delivered his state to Jonathan in the Saturday’s presidential poll.
Lamido, Yuguda, Aliyu, Shema and Suswam, who lost their states also lost their senatorial elections.
