Pro Wrestling is a sport where the result of the contest is predetermined. As a result, records are not the safest things in wrestling. More often than not a promoter would make a conscious effort to have one of his wrestlers break a long standing record just to elevate him in the public eye.
But even then there are some records in wrestling that will surely never be broken or replicated. The changing times and taste of the fans make sure that some feats will stand the test of time.
And even though the old saying goes, "All records are made to be broken." Not all records are created equal.
So here is a look at 5 WWE records that will never be broken.
#5 Undertaker's 14 Hell in a Cell Matches
The Deadman has entered 'The Devil's Playground' on 14 occasions.
In an era where bleeding has become as rare in wrestling as a Curt Hawkins victory, it is very hard to replicate the magic of the Hell In A Cell matches in the Attitude Era. While Hell In A Cell matches used to mark the end of feuds back then, today it has become just another gimmick match to advance a storyline.
Hell In A Cell matches are becoming rarer with every passing year and it is because WWE has started to burn out of ways to keep the concept entertaining without the use of the brutality that made the match so famous in the first place.
As a result, it is hard to see anybody even coming near The Undertaker's record of 14 appearances inside the Hell in a Cell structure. The nearest man to him is Triple H on 9, and 'The Game' will surely not participate in 5 more Hell In A Cell matches. Thus, this is a record that is unlikely to ever be broken.
#4 Edge's 14 WWE World Tag Team Championships
Edge has been some pretty good tag teams over the years.
Edge was a superstar who was great at every facet of pro wrestling. But to this day, he remains most famous for his tag team run with Christian and for good reason. The two men managed to win the Tag Team Championships on seven occasions.
But surprisingly, Christian was not the only partner that Edge won Tag Team gold with. In fact, Edge has won the Tag Team Championships on 14 occasions and with 6 different partners. The closest man to Edge's record is Billy Gunn with 11 reigns. But it is hard to see the 54-year-old coming back and winning the title three more times.
Edge obviously benefited from the quick title changes known as 'hot potato' that was characteristic of the Attitude Era. Today a title rarely changes hands on more than four or five occasions in a year. Funnily, Edge's 14 reigns are not as impressive when his combined days as champion is taken into account. He has managed to hold the titles for only 425 days in his combined 14 reigns as champion, averaging exactly a month for each reign!
#3 Santino Marella's 1 second in the Royal Rumble match
The Cobra is not the only thing Santino Marella
Santino Marella did not do a lot of things in wrestling that are worth remembering. Sure, he had The Cobra which was funny for the first few months. But even then, it is more of a case of not being able to forget instead of fondly remembering.
But Marella did manage to do one thing in his career due to which he will appear on WWE programming at least once a year for the rest of his live. The Milan Miracle's highlight moment came when he entered the 2009 Royal Rumble and was dumped out by Kane in just one second. Yes, you read that right.
This is a record that will stay intact forever simply because it cannot be broken. Surely nobody is going to get eliminated in zero seconds so it is not worth even trying. As a result, Santino Marella will remain alive in Royal Rumble promos for eternity.
#2 Bruno Sammartino's 2803-day reign as WWE Champion
Sammartino will forever remain the greatest champion in wrestling history.
Speaking of records that will never be broken. Bruno Sammartino's reign as WWE Champion began in 1963 and it was in 1971 that somebody finally managed to beat him for the title. Stories go that when Ivan Koloff beat Sammartino to win the Championship, people in Madison Square Garden started to cry seeing their hero's title run coming to an end.
Today, it is rare to see somebody to hold the title for even a year. Sammartino's record is so absurd, that the WWE had to market CM Punk's 434 days as WWE Champion as 'the longest reign of the Modern Era'. Just for context, even if CM Punk held the WWE Championship for 434 days on five more occasions, he would still be 199 days short of Sammartino's reign.
It might be hard for people to wrap their heads around how long 2803 days as champion really. To put it into perspective, 2830 days ago The Shield did not exist, The Undertaker was still undefeated at Wrestlemania and CM Punk had not even won his first WWE Championship.
#1 Undertaker's 21-0 undefeated streak at Wrestlemania

While 'The Streak' might be dead now, what The Undertaker achieved in his first 21 Wrestlemania appearances will live on forever. Judging by the longevity of wrestlers' today, it would be impressive if anyone even manages to appear at Wrestlemania 21 times, let alone win.
The man closest to Undertaker's streak is Rob Van Dam with his own 4-0 streak at the grandest stage of them. It is safe to say that we'd be surprised if Rob appears at one more Wrestlemania.
The only man in history to appear in more than 20 Wrestlemanias other than The Undertaker, is Triple H with 22 appearances. His record is 9-13. John Cena with 10 victories under his belt, is the only other man to reach double digits in terms of wins at Wrestlemania.
