With all sense of humility, I was one of the best ministers to ever serve in aviation"- Stella Oduah says

Former Minister of Aviation, who was fired by former President Goodluck Jonathan, over claims that she bought BMW cars for N225 million while in office, says with all humility, she is one of the best ministers to have served in the Aviation sector. In an interview with The Cable, Oduah said:

"I think with all sense of humility, I was one of the best ministers to ever serve in aviation. The evidence is there. I didn’t do it because I was just a minister. I coined the word “transformation”, and I wanted transformation to be personified. I wanted it to be on the record that indeed we can transform.

All we need to do is to ensure that we do all we have to do and think outside the box. If you remember how Abuja, Lagos and Enugu airports used to be. We did a holistic transformation. Again, it is just to prove that transformation is doable. All it requires is hard work and good people to implement the strategy" she said.

Buhari Will Return To London To See Doctors - Presidency

The Presidency said Thursday that President Muhammadu Buhari has not shelved his plans of seeing his doctors in London for further check ups.

Online medium, Sahara Reporters citing an unnamed presidential source, had alleged that Buhari had chosen to bring his doctors to Nigeria instead of jetting out to see them in London. It alleged that the president has recalled an advance party which has already left the country.

“It is false news. We are not aware of the reported advance movements,” said presidential spokesman Garba Shehu.

“The last time the president spoke about this, he said he would return to his doctors after some time. We are not aware that this has changed.”

On the day he returned to Nigeria following his 49-day medical vacation, Buhari had mentioned during a meeting with members of his cabinet that there would be a need for him to still visit his doctors in the United Kingdom.
He said, “I am feeling much better now, there may, however, be a need to have further follow-ups within some weeks.”

At the meeting, he did not give any indication of what illness he was suffering from but said “I have received, I think, the best of treatment I could receive.

“I couldn’t recall being so sick since I was a young man,” he added, referring to “blood transfusions, going to the laboratories and so on and so forth”.

However, the presidency is yet to state when the president is expected to see the doctors.

Witness tells court how AIT boss, Raymond Dokpesi reportedly received over N2.1bn from Dasuki

A prosecution witness in the trial of Raymond Dokpesi, former Chairman of DAAR Communications Plc, today told Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja how over N2.1billion was credited into the account of DAAR Communications and Holdings Plc by the Office of National Security Adviser, ONSA, under Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd).

Dokpesi is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a six-count charge alongside his firm, DAAR Investment and Holdings Ltd, for his alleged involvement in the diversion of billions of naira meant for the purchase of arms to fight insurgency in the North-East.

The witness, Zainab Ibrahim Kokobili, a relationship manager, First Bank, told the court that, “N500million was credited into the account of DAAR Communications and Holdings Plc on January 22, 2015 from the ONSA.

According to Kokobili, who was led in evidence by counsel to EFCC, Oluwaleke Atolagbe from the chambers of Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, “High Chief Raymond Anthony Aleogho Dokpesi and Raymond Paul Dokpesi were the signatories to the account”. She added that any of them had the mandate instruction to sign.

The witness told the court that she was invited to the EFCC through the agency’s Fraud and Investigation Unit in Lagos, where she reported to make statements and presented some documents. She added that prior to January 22, 2015, the balance in the account was N113,585.28.

On other payments into the account, Kokobili stated that, on February 4th 2015, another sum of N500million was paid into the account of DAAR Communications and Holdings Plc by ONSA. She also added that N620million and N500million were paid into the account on February 9, 2015 and March 19, 2015 respectively from the same source.

Bundle of documents which include statement of account of DAAR Communications and Holdings Plc, account opening package, certificate of identification was presented and admitted as “Exhibit B”, while bank transfer instructions in respect of the account, letter to EFCC Chairman forwarding the documents were all admitted as “Exhibit C”.

Under cross-examination by Dokpesi’s counsel, Kanu Agabi, SAN, Kokobili told the court that First Bank accepted DAAR Communications and Holdings Plc because it believed its operations are legitimate and did not see anything wrong with the company until it was invited by EFCC. She also told the court that she had no idea why “these monies” were paid into the account of DAAR Communications and Holdings Plc.

The case has been adjourned to May 24 -25, 2017 for further hearing.

Kenyan pastor storms mortuary to resurrect his dead wife (Photos)

Mortuary attendants at the Gakwegori Funeral Home in Kenya were left shocked when a pastor stormed the mortuary to resurrect his dead wife.

Pastor Robinson Karumba of Eagle Wings Prophetic Ministries, arrived at the Gakwegori Funeral Home with his members in the early hours of Wednesday, demanding the body of his wife released to him, Nairobi News reported.

The deceased, Ms. Polly Rosa Ng endo who died following an undisclosed illness on Sunday, was released to his husband, who then took her into a secluded room, laid her naked body on a table and applied anointing oil.

Sources say after the pastor applied anointing oil on his late wife, he and his members started singing praise songs accompanied with a guitar and keyboard.

According to the pastor, who brought along clothes and shoes for his wife, he was following the teachings of Jesus which, he claimed, directed the believers would be raised from the dead after four days.

'We believe she is not dead, but merely resting. She is a believer like me and has preached in many places and with prominent preachers. I had to do what I have always preached. Jesus was called to Lazarus home after he had died for four days.' he said.

Explaining while he brought along musical instruments to the Mortuary, he said:

'Even Daughter said my mother will come back on Wednesday and that is why I came today. We are playing guitar and other instruments because she was a musician.'

The preacher also said people are preparing for her burial scheduled for Saturday, but if she resurrects before then, he will stage up a thanksgiving ceremony instead.

'Back at home, people have been preparing for the burial. If she resurrects, Saturday would be a thanksgiving ceremony. We will be marking her resurrection,' he said.

Photos: British woman who helped Nigerian boyfriend when he faced deportation finds out via FB that he'd been cheating on her

A 25-year-old British woman who paid to help her Nigerian boyfriend stay in the country was devastated and furious when she found out through Facebook that he’d been cheating on her for months.

Care home worker, Beth Coombs from Southsea, was matched with personal trainer Chris Chikadibia Esionwu, 29, on Tinder dating app, at Christmas in 2015.
The couple’s first date was a trip to Pets at Home, as Beth was keen to buy a companion for her pet rat.

After that they met up two or three times a week and were constantly texting. When Beth was down with flu, she told how Chris stayed with her for a week to look after her.

“I thought he was a keeper,” she said.

In April Beth was stunned when the Home Office detained Chris while they investigated his visa.

She explained: “He told me he had a student visa and was completely free to live in the UK.

“I believed him, and was sure it was just a mix-up. But, in the meantime, he was being held in a detention centre in Weymouth, nearly 100 miles away.

“I was distraught. We’d only been together for a few months but already I’d imagined a future with Chris.”

Terrified he’d be deported, Beth told how she would drive to visit her boyfriend after work.

She admitted:

“While the Home Office was investigating, the one thing Chris really needed was money. I took him whatever cash I had spare, which was about £150, for him to buy odd bits and bobs in the detention centre. There wasn’t much left once I’d paid my rent and filled up my car with tank after tank of petrol for the journey.”

When he faced deportation she spent a fortune driving to see him in a detention centre 100 miles away and giving him whatever money she had to spare.

Months later lawyers ruled it wasn’t safe for Chris to return to Nigeria.

"He asked to live with me and said he’d have to tell the Home Office that I would support him financially. It was quite full on. We hadn’t talked about moving in together yet. But I was sure that Chris was the man for me, so I agreed. Whatever it took to get my boyfriend back.”

Chris was transferred to another detention centre near Heathrow before being released in June.

"He phoned me and asked me to come and collect him,” Beth recalled. “I was over the moon. We stayed up all night talking, while Chris filled me in on every little detail of what had happened. It was amazing to have him back."

But after four weeks, Beth said Chris’ behaviour started to change. he started acting weirdly around her and refused to let her put anything about him on Facebook, she became suspicious.

“He’d go out unannounced, and any time I tried to take a selfie of us he banned me from showing it to anyone else. It was a side of him I hadn’t seen before. Our sex life became non-existent, as he would sleep all day when I was out at work then go out as soon as I was home.”

One weekend, when Chris had mysteriously gone away for a few days to Surrey, Beth noticed a girl liking all his Facebook photos and when she contacted her she revealed Chris had been having a relationship with her at the same time.

“My heart snapped in two,” Beth recalled. "After all I’d done for him! I was furious. I kicked him out then and there" she admitted.

“Chris had never mentioned her, and I had a strange sick feeling in the pit of my stomach,” she said.

"I sent this girl a message and asked if she’d been seeing him. She replied saying yes, since Christmas – the same time we’d got together. Over messages, we pieced together his betrayal. He’d been having a break in his relationship with her while he was down in Weymouth.

"Then, as soon as he was released, he’d picked up right where they left off. She’d had no idea he was living with me, or even that he had a girlfriend. I wasn’t angry with her, as she’d been duped by Chris too. We ended up finishing our conversation on good terms, and both of us agreed to dump him."

When Beth confronted him, she said Chris claimed he’d kept the affair secret because he felt “guilty” that she’d done so much for him. She ended the relationship.

"Losing Chris was hard, but I’m glad I discovered the truth.”

Popular Kenyan hotel evicts 100 sex workers (Photos)

At least 100 commercial sex workers have been evicted from their rooms after a reported change of ownership of the building in Kenya.

The sex workers operating at the New Paradise Lodge in Saba Saba, Mombasa were surprisingly shocked when a group of rowdy youths stormed the building unannounced to chase them out with others who were with their clients.

They were all thrown out with their belongings, as people gathered to witnessed the scene on Monday.

'They could have given us notice, this is so unfair. Sex work is like any other job, they need to respect us. Whoever ordered this eviction should bear in mind that we are in electioneering period, we have votes,' said Wanjiku, one of the sex workers.

While another sex worker, a 40-year-old woman, said: We are more than 100 sex workers, we work in shifts. There are those who work during the day and others at night. Those who came in the day shift are the ones who were affected.

'This is a hustle that caters for my livelihood. I have two children in the university, they depend on me on fees, food and clothes, I pay rent through this work,' she added.

A frequent customer, Dula, who spoke to Newsmen expressed his disappointment after they sent the sex workers away.

'Why are they evicting our flowers? he asked, 'This is where we usually come when we are thirsty especially young unmarried men like me. They charge is Sh200, when we don't have money sometimes we are given credit. 'We need back our flowers,' he demanded.

Kefren says the “hotel is already booked” for the big night, and she has already spoken with her “buyer”, who is an unnamed millionaire businessman from Hong Kong.

"I was 15 and said 'maybe I can do this too with my virginity'."And I looked it up on the Internet and saw some girls who sold themselves for €3.5 million or more."I live in a very poor country, so I need to help my parents and buy them a home."

Cinderella Escorts is run from the city of Dortmund by 26-year-old Jan Zakobielski. He previously defended the controversial service, by saying:
