Ademola Adeleke is about making history, a political record no one has ever broken since Osun was created 28 years ago (See details)

Senator Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke, a governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 2018 governorship election is on the path of breaking a political jinx that has never been broken.

His sudden popularity in Osun political field could be attributed to the demise of his brother late Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke, who died on April 23, 2017, in one of the popular hospitals in Osogbo. His death has been described as controversial.

Created on August 27, 1991, from part of the old Oyo State by the military administration of General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, Osun is about being the first state in south-west region of the country to produce two governors from the same family.

Ever since the state came into existence, no single family born of the same father and mother has produced two governors.

But Ademola Adeleke is set on that path as his doggedness ever since he took a political dive into the dam of Osun politics continued to be a huge shock to his rivals.

How Ademola Adeleke came into Osun politics

Some described Ademola Adeleke as a political learner who had been following his late brother in the 90s when Osun was created by the government of Babangida, who was at the time operating a diarchy.

During the Nigerian third republic, his brother Isiaka Adeleke ran for governor of the newly created Osun State under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the dominant party in the state at the time.

He became the first executive governor of Osun in 1992. The republic was later truncated.

Death of Isiaka Adeleke

Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke was a political heavyweight during his lifetime in Osun. Before 2007 general elections, he contested under the People’s Democratic Party and won the Osun West Senatorial District election and was at Nigeria’s Upper Legislative Chamber from 2007 to 2011.

When it was obvious that he was going to contest for governorship election under PDP, the pressure was on him, making him join forces with the APC-led government.

Best to compensate Isiaka?

He was given the APC ticket in the election that followed, he was at the National Assembly as an APC senator until his unfortunate death on April 23, 2017.

Before his death, it was rumoured that he had an unshaken ambition of contesting the September 2018 governorship election in Osun.

It was learnt that he had great chances of becoming the governor of the state under any political party by beating anyone in any party, unfortunately, that dream would not come to pass.

After the death of Isiaka Adeleke

When Isiakia Adeleke died, it was time for a by-election, the two major political parties in the state: PDP and APC were ready to put their popularity into a test.

While PDP watched with keen interest on who APC would present as its candidate, the ruling party thought it was time to change the statue quo. That was when Ademola Adeleke came forward hoping to step into the shoes of his late brother who was an APC senator until his death.

But APC who taught couldn’t continue in the Adeleke’s lineage under a very powerful influence of former state governor, Rauf Aregbesola, was said to have anointed the former senator from the senatorial district Mudasiru Oyetunde Hussein.

And the APC ticket went to Senator Hussein. Aggrieved, unhappy over the failure of APC to compensate the Adeleke’s family, Ademola went to the PDP, a party that was already waiting to embrace him.

Ademola Adeleke got the ticket of PDP with less stress and at the polls, Ademola Adeleke humiliated Aregbesola’s candidate.

The beginning of his political sojourn

Less than five months he got to the Upper Legislative Chamber, his posters began flooding Osogbo, the state capital.

He was already known as a good dancer and was referred to as a dancing senator. Unperturbed Ademola Adeleke frankly told his supporters in PDP that he would be contesting for the 2018 governorship election in the state.

One of the biggest PDP members at the time Senator Iyiola Omisore was forced to pursue his ambition in another party, SDP. Coincidentally, Ademola’s brother Isiaka won under SDP in 1992 elections.

Even though there were allegations of employing the Adeleke’s wealth to intimidate PDP members, it was obvious that he would represent the party at the September election.

Forces against him:

As a political culture in Nigeria, where dirty details of an aspirant are brought forth during electioneering campaigns, Adeleke was accused and charged to the Osogbo high court for forging his secondary school testimonial and WAEC result.

The plan of those who brought the case was to cancel his governorship candidacy.

According to the report, the e testimonial Adeleke submitted to INEC dated July 20, 1988, as its Heading Ede Muslim Grammar School, Osun State, as at that year Osun state was not in existence.

Also, the SSCE results indicated in the testimonial shows that the mode of examination wasn’t existing in the year 1981.

Another testimonial with the Heading Ede Muslim High school dated 2018, indicates that the principal which signed the 1988 testimonial also signed the 2018 testimonial, this led to the arrest of the principal of the school.

Adeleke’s lawyer in his defence claims his secondary school hasn’t come out to denial his testimonial asking the court to dismiss the Case.

Battle at the polls

During the September 2018 governorship election in the state, he gave the ruling APC a good fight but it ended in a political drama which made INEC declare it inconclusive and said it would conduct a supplementary election is some affected local government areas in the state.

In the end, Gboyega Oyetola of APC was declared the winner of the election.

Battle at the tribunal

Rugged, focused and politically charged Ademola Adeleke headed to the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal. The tribunal was moved from Osogbo to Abuja and on March 22, 2019, the tribunal sitting in Abuja declared Ademola Adeleke as the winner of the election

It held that the All Progressives Congress and its candidate, Gboyega Oyetola, were not validly returned.

Oyetola appeled the ruling.

While the appeal of Oyetola was waiting at the Appeal Court, a sudden and shocking judgement came up, saying Ademola Adeleke was not qualified to contest as the governor of a state due to his O’level certificate.

Ademola appealed certificate ruling

The Ede-born PDP senator headed to Appeal Court and the court in its sitting in Akure, Ondo State capital said Adeleke was eligible to contest for elections.

The judgement followed an earlier judgement of a High Court in Bwari, Abuja, which declared him ineligible to contest the election. The issue bordered on the controversy over Mr Adeleke’s secondary school certificate submitted to INEC for the election.

Will Adeleke win against Oyetola at the Appeal?

Oyetola’s appeal is still at the appeal court. If the Appeal Court affirmed the ruling of the election petition tribunal, there’s possibility Oyetola heads to the Supreme Court, if the apex court affirmed earlier rulings, it means Senator Ademola Adekele will become the executive governor of Osun State, against all odds.

Making history

If that happens, it means the Adeleke’s family will be the first to produce two governors from the same family, and possibly in the entire South-West geopolitical zone.

Ademola Adeleke is on the path of history, whether he’s going to dance or not.

As it happens, we’ll keep you updated

SHOCKING: Man ‘Resurrected’ by prophet Lukau finally dies! (See what killed him)

A South Africa Publication H-Metro has reported that the man who was “raised from the dead” by Pastor Alph Lukau back in February died last week.

It was previously reported that Brighton ‘Elliot’ Moyo from Zimbabwe was allegedly raised from the dead after 3 days by Lukau.

The video of the ‘resurrection’ went viral after which the pastor disclosed it was a staged miracle put up by Moyo’s family.

According to reports, Brighton died last week in a village called St Luke’s in South Africa.

Unfortunately for him, Pastor Alph Lukau was not there to facilitate another resurrection. A close family member who spoke to South African tabloid H-Metro, said Elliot was buried on Saturday.

The relative said Elliot’s stomach started swelling and didn’t stop for three days and on the third day, he died. He is reportedly survived by his wife.

Meanwhile, according to other reports, when Brighton joined Lukau’s Alleluia Ministries International there were reports that he was HIV positive and he had kidney failure and he also had TB (tuberculosis).

Oge Okoye visits Alph Lukau

In another related news, Daily Advent had earlier reported how Nollywood actress, Oge Okoye was seen in the congregation of the questionable South African minister, looking for his otherworldly help. In the now popular video, the on-screen actress was seen crying as the minister made a few ‘disclosures’ to her.

Not surprisingly, the video quickly became a web sensation across the Nigerian social media platforms. While numerous individuals were shocked to see the big name at the congregation of the man known for the resurrection miracle scandal, many people were amused by what they described as ‘unimportant showy behavior.’

In spite of the trolling and social media humiliation, the performing artist seems, by all accounts, to be unbothered and from her most recent post on Instagram, she is standing pleased with what she depicted as her adoration for God. Sharing a series of photographs, she said:

“Good morning Glam FAMILY………I try to be calm about everything and anything especially when Negativity screams out so loud. I don’t try to Calm the Storm, but will only Calm my mind and the Storm will Pass..though i owe no one any explanation as regards to my personal heavenly race but I feel like addressing THIS wild fire

I Travelled to see my mum as usual and she told me how she came across the youtube channel of AMI church and that she’s been following them ever since because of what God is doing in the church through Pastor Alphalukau. So my mum wanted to visit the church because of her younger sister(My aunt) who is a cancer patient, wheelchair bound and is bedridden.

Due to Mum’s age, I didn’t want her making that long journey from Spain to South Africa so I requested for my aunt’s pictures and promised her that I would visit the church so I can stand in for her as a point of contact. That was how i visited AMI on the Sunday, 16th of October 2018,last year.

Go on youtube and see for yourselves. Please Nigerians,Is anything wrong in seeking the face of God or standing in the gap for my sick aunty? How Gullible can people be?Why fabricate stories? Meanwhile how much do you think I will be paid to do the unimaginable? God forbid

Whoever said that..May they be visited with the same bitter pill to swallow IJN. Amen Thank you Lord for all the blessings.

I never knew I used to encourage Yahoo Yahoo boys- Adekunle Gold

Urban highlife singer and multi-talented graphics designer, Adekunle Gold has debunked reports that before he became a star, he used to aid and abet internet fraudsters, popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo boys’ by helping them design all their fraudulent graphics.

•Adekunle Gold

The accusation came after his wife and fellow singer, Simi, took to her social media page to speak extensively against internet fraud activities and the negative impact it is having on genuine Nigerians seeking for international opportunities.

In her reaction, Simi noted that it is important for Nigerians to change their minds when it comes to people practicing internet fraud. She also said there could never be a way to garnish or make it acceptable and so yahoo boys should stop giving Nigeria a bad name by making the country a laughing stock abroad.

Following her reaction, a twitter user asked; “Dekunle, hope you’ve heard what your wife said about yahoo boys, to which Adekunle Gold responded saying “Yes”, and asked if there was a problem. The user replied saying; “Why don’t you let her know that there was a time you used to edit documents for yahoo boys for their scam activities, but the singer replied saying; “There was a time like that? How come I’m just finding out myself, wow.”

Dissatisfied with Adekunle Gold’s response, the twitter user continued; “Because you never found it wrong then, until the dreams became different. Just tell your wife that because she had the privilege doesn’t mean others will and she should not criticize anyone. Let people reap what they sow; no damn human being is holy. She should put her mouth on her mic and make music and not in people’s hustle affairs.”

This Is Why I Defeated Goodluck Jonathan In 2015 – President Buhari

The President has revisited the 2015 election, saying he won because Nigerians revolted over endemic corruption. He spoke yesterday at the opening of the Corruption Risk Training for Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies of the African Union (AU) at the old Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari said those who plundered the people’s commonwealth had deployed same to destabilise the system, adding that such elements attempted to compromise law enforcement institutions in their desperate bid to escape justice.

He listed Treasury Single Account (TSA), Open Government Partnership (OGP) and various Executive Orders (EOs) as some of the measures his administration took to check looters.

According to him, the pervasive nature and devastating impact of corruption before the election was dysfunctional.

He said: “When we assumed office in May 2015, the pervasive nature and devastating impact of corruption on the Nigerian nation had become dysfunctional. The momentum for our electoral victory could not be separated from the revolt of the people against glaring endemic corruption.”

Buhari said the training facilitated by the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN), the research and training arm of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), was at the instance of his administration as part of the support for the war against corruption in our continent.

He said: “The fight against corruption is a battle for the souls of our different countries and it is one that we must win. Since independence our continent has suffered from the severe consequences of corruption and it is imperative that we take steps to reverse the trend.

“During the past several months, we have been taking steps to institute integrity and transparency in the processes of government and holding those who have plundered our commonwealth to account for their actions.

“However, the costs of recovery and sanctions are also enormous. While commendable successes have been recorded, it has become manifest that corruption fights back. With enormous stolen resources, elements have attempted to compromise law enforcing institutions and pervert the course of justice.

“This realisation highlights the necessity of building a system that focuses on preventing corruption. We continue to implement policies aimed at building resilient systems that can withstand assault by corrupt officials.

“Our steps in this direction include the full implementation of both the Treasury Single Account (TSA) and the Bank Verification Number (BVN), the Open Government Partnership, various Executive Orders, strengthening the Anti-Corruption Agencies and permitting their full autonomy.”

“It is in this context of building robust preventive systems that we must understand this initiative which aims to train leaders of anti-corruption agencies in the African Union by deploying Corruption Risk Assessment Methodology for corruption prevention in our countries.

“Corruption Risk Assessment seeks to identify corruption-prone processes and procedures in organisations and recommend appropriate remedial steps.  The methodology places a premium on prevention as an effective complement to enforcement in the war against corruption.

“In 2016, through support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the ACAN acquired the capacity to conduct training on corruption risk assessment. Since then, the academy has conducted a number of these trainings.

“To showcase the growing appreciation of CRA as a tool for preventing corruption, the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria has received a request for the training of Corruption Risk Assessors for ECOWAS countries from the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja,” the President said.

President Buhari said the training was an opportunity to extend the benefits of the methodology to other African countries, stressing that “it is clear that we have not taken our appointment as Anti-Corruption Champion for the continent for the year 2018 lightly.”

He expressed optimism that most of the countries have subscribed to not only the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), but also the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption (AUCPCC).

‘I Don’t Want To Have Any Regrets’- Hazard On Real Madrid Move

Chelsea forward, Eden Hazard, has again spoken about being linked with Real Madrid and admitted he does not want to have any regrets at the end of his career.

Hazard has previously spoken of how a move to the Bernabeu would be a “dream”, fuelling speculation he will soon be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian’s deal is due to expire in 2020 and a new contract has yet to be agreed, although Chelsea remain determined to hold on to their star man.

And Hazard has now revealed talks with the Blues are on hold, as he dropped another strong hint that his future lies in the Spanish capital.

“There was a bit of talk (with Chelsea), but then it stopped, now we’re waiting,” he told French radio station RMC.

“Not yet,” Hazard added when asked if he knew where his future lay.

“The new (Chelsea) coach (Maurizio Sarri) thinks football like me, so we’ll see.

“The family is in London, I’m also going to be 28. I do not want to have any regrets at the end of my (career). It’s a decision I’m going to make, I do not know when, but I’ll make it.”

EPL: Drogba sends message to Aubameyang for ‘stealing’ his goal celebration

Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba, has sent a message to Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, after the forward borrowed his celebration during the Gunners’ 4-2 win against Tottenham on Sunday.

Unai Emery’s men ran out winners in the North London derby thanks to two goals from Aubameyang.

Drogba recently retired after an illustrious 23-year career and the Ivory Coast legend used to celebrate his goals with a famous pumped celebration.

And the 40-year-old sent a message to Aubameyang after the Gabon striker appeared to use his celebration against Spurs.

Taking to his official Instagram page, Drogba captioned a photo of Aubameyang: “When your lil bro does your signature #spreadyourwings #blessings”

Money Rituals: Why I Asked My Client To Bring Human Parts – Herbalist Makes Confessions

The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Fimihan Adeoye, has paraded a herbalist identified as Amos Sulaimon, in Osogbo, alongside his client, for engaging in killing for ritual.

According to PUNCH Metro, while speaking to journalist during the parade, the ritualist said that he told his client, Supo Bamidele, to bring a human head and wrists in order to discourage him from engaging in money ritual.

The Police Commissioner said that Bamidele was caught with a severed head and wrist in Ile-Ife, and upon his arrest, told the police that his herbalist asked him to bring the human parts for ritual.

While explaining what transpired between him and his client, Sulaimon stated, “I am an herbalist and I live and work in Ile-Ife. Bamidele had been coming to me to seek spiritual assistance. I inherited this job from my father and we don’t engage in money rituals.

“I don’t do evil nor engage in money rituals. In the last four months, Bamidele had been disturbing me for spiritual assistance, because he claimed that his business was not doing well and that he wanted a charm that could improve his fortunes.

“Because he would not allow me to rest, I told him to bring a human head and wrist. It was a ploy to scare him away. I never knew he would go to the extent of looking for the items.”

Responding to questions from journalists, Bamidele, who sells planks, said he resorted to fortune-changing charms because he was not doing well in the business, adding that his wife and children had left him because he could not provide for their needs.

He said that he exhumed a corpse at a burial ground in Onikooko area of Ile-Ife, severed the head and wrist, and headed for the residence of the herbalist.

“I was, however, caught inside a tricycle that I took while going to my herbalist’s house. I didn’t know any of the people buried in the cemetery; I just went there and took the parts that I needed,” he stated

Strike: We have reached partial agreement with ASUU- Chris Ngige

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, says the  lingering strike action of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), might soon come to an end as the leadership of the union and the Federal government have reached a partial agreement.

Recall that the academic union began their strike action on November 5th to demand better funding for the Education sector.

Speaking after a reconciliation meeting with the union yesterday December 10th, the Minister told newsmen that the strike would soon be called off as efforts are being made to meet the demands of the union.

“We have finished our deliberation. I am happy to report that we touched some areas of understanding in implementation from the memorandum of action which we agreed to in 2017. Some of these areas we have substantial compliance and some other areas have not been fully dealt with. Like the issue of shortfall in salaries of some federal universities’ workers and lecturers, ASUU has given a list to the accountant-general’s office and we have agreed that by Wednesday that list should be cross-checked by the presidential initiative on continuous auditing. So, the accountant-general’s office is to get back to us by Wednesday.

“We also have the issue of earned allowances, revitalisation, these are issues of 2009 agreement and partial implementation and we have agreed on the modus operandi to look into the fund situation, this is due to low revenue on the part of government.

We have agreed on what we are going to do to make sure that the outstanding amount is handled in a way that all parties will be properly accommodated. We also discussed the issue of state universities and agreed also that even if education is on the concurrent list, the universities should be properly funded and staffed so that we do not produce half-baked students from those universities. In realisation of this, the ministry of education will set up a committee, that would engage the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and the minister of education has taken steps in that direction to formalise the interaction. Thus discussion are fruitful and we do hope that in the next adjourned date we would have had the requisite result on the few agreements reached today.” he said

Also speaking to newsmen, the National president of ASUU, Abiodun Ogunyemi, said

“Our own understanding is that we heard promises made on the part of government, we shall await the report on all the issues, which they have made the promises. Only after that, we can get back to our members to take a decision.”

The suspect after he was apprehended

A Nigerian man has been humiliated and beaten mercilessly after he was apprehended wearing bra on Friday night while on an alleged mission to steal underwear in Delta State that he would use for money ritual.

It was gathered that the suspect was reportedly caught by local vigilante in Agbarha area of the state after he had allegedly stolen a bra and was looking for underwear to steal to complete his mission.

When he was quizzed by the security operatives, the suspect allegedly confessed that a man whom he asked to show him the way to make money told him to go and find where to hustle underwear and bra before he helps him.

He was told after picking or stealing the items, he should meet him at a popular Tozak hotel in Ughelli area.
