How to make natural hair soft and curly

A lot of people with natural afro hair often ask: ‘where can I learn how to make my natural hair soft?’ we have the answer! We will tell you how to make natural hair soft and curly in the easiest ways possible. So check this article out if you want your hair to be all cute and healthy.

The easiest way to make natural hair soft

If you have had your natural hair for a while, chances are, you are already aware of this method. It simply calls for the use of leave-in conditioner. It is a tried and true method of getting your hair moisturised and soft.

The best way to get the most out of your conditioner is to warm it up before application and apply it all over moist hair. If you have your hair in twists or braids, it is best to undo them and apply conditioner to each individual strand. After that, leave it in your hair for up to half an hour and wrap your head in a towel. Then, carefully rinse it off and enjoy your silky smooth hair.

How to make natural hair soft with the caramel treatment

If you do not want to use any chemicals on your hair, we have several recipes you can try out, one of them being the caramel treatment. For it, you will need:

1/4 cup of blackstrap molasses;1/2 cup of honey;1/2 cup of olive oil;3 jars of baby food (banana flavoured);A teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.

Yes, you read it right, you are going to be using baby food to make your hair softer. It is a neat trick we have recently learned, as using banana baby food instead of just regular mashed banana is much more convenient (and easier to get out of the hair).

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and apply the mixture to your hair with an applicator brush. Do not comb it through, as it might actually damage your hair in the process. When you are done applying it, put on a shower cap and leave it for at least half an hour (you can even leave it overnight). After that, thoroughly wash it all off, and your hair should be nice and smooth.

How to soften natural hair (Cherry Lola treatment)

Beauty blogger by the name of Cherry Lola has come up with her own treatment, and we will tell you all about it. For this recipe, you will need:

Two cups of plain yogurt (organic);10 tablespoons of liquid amino acids;3 tablespoons of baking soda.

Mix the ingredients until they are well incorporated, and then leave the mixture until it gets foamy. Apply to clean hair and leave in for 20-40 minutes.

How to soften natural hair without relaxer with henna method

While henna is usually used to make hair red, it can also be used to make hair softer. For this treatment, you are going to need:

Four bags of green tea;Two tablespoons of honey;A jar of henna (150-200 grams, depending on how long your hair is).

If you want to keep your hands and surfaces clean, use gloves, plastic cup, a bowl and a spoon. You should also cover the surrounding surfaces with some newspapers or something similar to avoid semi-permanent stains.

After that, follow these steps:

Heat up about two cups of water until almost boiling. Put the teabags in the water and leave them in for a while.Put henna in a bowl, and when the ‘tea’ has gotten cooler, pour it into the same bowl and mix until you get the mashed potato consistency.Wash your hair, detangle it with your fingers and leave it slightly damp.Add some honey to your tea/henna mixture until it gets as thick as pudding.Apply the treatment to the hair working back to front until all your hair is covered.Put a plastic cap on your head and leave it overnight or even longer. You can leave it on for as long as 16 hours or even more.Gently remove the paste from your hair with your fingers and wash it off with warm water. When almost everything is out, apply some conditioner and then jump into the shower to finish the job. Rinse thoroughly so that there is nothing left.

If you want to get even better results, use the deep conditioning treatment afterwards, and your hair will be nice and soft.

How to make your natural hair soft with the coconut milk treatment

The last recipe we want to share with you is the treatment made with coconut milk. For this, you are going to need:

A can of coconut milkTwo tablespoons of oil (you can use any type of oil)Two tablespoons of honeyFour tablespoons of plain yogurt (plain)Juice of one limeSome cornflour

Mix everything together in a bowl, but do not include the corn flour yet. Then, start adding the cornflour by half a teaspoon until you get the consistency you want. Apply the mixture to clean hair and leave it in for half an hour before rinsing with a sulphate-free shampoo.

How to curl natural hair without heat

If you are trying to figure out how to make natural hair curly and soft, we can give you one major tip: stay away from everything that involves you applying heat to your hair. It can easily undo everything you have just done from the previous section and leave your hair dry, coarse and brittle.

For that reason, we want to offer you a quick rundown of how you can get lovely curls without using any heat. Here are five simple ways you can try:

Finger coils

One of the simplest ways of getting cute little curls without heat is finger coils. All you need is a moisturising curl cream and your fingers. Wet the hair, apply the cream (or you can use leave-in conditioner) and put your fingers to work! It is somewhat time consuming, but the end result is worth it.

Bantu knots

Not only are they a great hairstyle altogether, but they are also a great method of getting curls. Wash your hair, detangle it, leave it partly wet and do your hair up in bantu knots, section after section. Use curl cream if necessary. After you are done with walking around with bantu knots on your head, carefully unwrap each knot and get your luscious curls.

Flexi rods

These magical soft and bendy sticks come in all shapes and sizes, so you can definitely find the ones that fit you specifically. You can wrap your hair around them (either dry or moist) and leave them in overnight and wake up to a full head of curls!

Perm rods

Similarly to the flexi rods, these sticks can help you get your curls, only these are usually short and rigid. It is also best to leave them overnight, but this time, you should certainly wet your hair and apply some leave-in conditioner or other moisturising products beforehand. After a good night’s sleep, you will have your adorable curls.

Curl formers

Probably one of the fastest way to get your hair all nice and curly is by using curl formers. You just need to wet your hair, put some product in and then put your hair in these curl formers strand by strand. Leave them overnight a have a curly head in the morning!

Try them out, find the ones that work best for you and enjoy your silky curly hair!

Dear Nigerian musicians, learn from Falz.Everyday is not for breast, yansh and popping bottles

Use your talent and platform to motivate and inspire the people who are your fans.

Falz.  (notjustok.com)

It felt like redemption when I came online after a little hiatus and saw the internet overwhelmed with Falz's public display of creativity soaked in the water of i-have-to-say-it-now-or-never.

Social Media Mess

left the internet when twitter Nigeria started trending hashtags like "#bigbumbumtwitter, #bigbreasttwitter and other big things that contributed little to the existence of humanity.

Coming back it was a breath of fresh air.  Seeing the same people who trended their breasts and butt trending the sheer creativity of falz.  That was good for democracy.

I've always found it funny that musicians in Nigeria who live in a country where there are no roads,  no light,  paralyzed healthcare system, joke of a government, body-present senators and all the evil things your mind can conceive are busy screaming in their studios "I get big banana" "30billion for the account" "coedine diet" and so on and so forth.

Awareness.

You may want to argue that they have their place in entertainment and I will totally oblige. But hey,  if you can make us shaku in this economy, you will not die if you bring out 4 minutes of your time to shout at the government.

Future generation  (Frisky Larr)

Tell them that you are aware of their madness.  Use your art and tell sublime truths.  Use your voice and highlight the ills of the day.  Use your talent and platform to motivate and inspire the people who are your fans.

Materialism.

I see a number of Nigerian musicians and all they do on instagram is flaunt wealth.  Flaunt chains. Flaunt jets and all that.

All those things are good for your self esteem and showbiz, but, you won't die if you take a short break from that trivialityand do some meaningful thing that will help the next generation. Moreover, a hundred years from now,  those videos of you flaunting cash will be seen as idiocy.

A number of Nigerian musicians, all they do on instagram is flaunt wealth.  (www.naijanewspapers.com.ng)

These musicians masquerade as people who Fela inspired.  Many of them say it for formalities. The only inspiration they drew from Fela is having baby mamas anytime they are bored.  But the real thing which made Fela a legend is a far cry from them.

After watching "This is America" by Childish Gambino, I shook my head and almost called out our musicians.  Glad I didn't.  Uncle falz did justice to that beat in less than four minutes and I am proud of him..

Truth is bitter.

There is a prize that comes with saying the truth in a system that truth is labeled a treasonable offense.  Falz threw caution to the wind and said his truth.  Our truth.  The truth of being Nigerian. And in my opinion, this a bold step that only one person can take and watch others follow.  He did it.

It is the job of other musicians to do so.  Nobody is begging you money.  Say our truth for us.  You have a voice.  Use it for the sake of your children who will ask you one day "Daddy why did you born me in this country"

Say the Truth.  (chicagotribune.com)

Do it for the poor ! Do it for the souls of young Nigerians who are roaming the streets jobless.. Do it for my friend who died because there was no fuel in the generator for oxygen in a government hospital.  Do it for all the people who died as a result of bad roads.

Say the truth for the sake of the thousands souls whose blood has been shed because they were in a certain place in Nigeria where some people feel it is their right to bomb people as a sports because the government is spelt in incompetence!

Everyday isn't for breast and yansh and popping bottles.  Some days in the studio,  leave breast alone.  Leave nyash.  Think humanity!

Think love!

Think unity!

Think freedom!

Inside the underground hotel in Africa that took a man 11 years to dig

If you suffer from claustrophobia and have a fear of the dark, then this kooky underground hotel in Africa might not be for you.

Travel blogger Drew Goldberg, 27, from Arizona, visited a rural part of Malawi, where he discovered the unusual inn.

In a video he explains that it took a man named Chifundu 11 years to dig the guesthouse out of the clay-like mud, and now he charges anywhere from 68 cents to $2 for people to stay.

Travel blogger Drew Goldberg, 27, from Arizona, visited a rural part of Malawi, where he discovered an unusual underground hotel

In a video he explains that it took a man named Chifundu 11 years to dig the guesthouse out of the clay-like mud, and now he charges anywhere from 68 cents to $2 for people to stay

Venturing into the hotel, Goldberg explains that a main staircase leading off the entrance 'just keeps going down and down'.

As there is no electricity, it makes filming a little difficult but Goldberg manages to shed some light on the interiors.

He explains that there are a total of ten rooms at the hotel.

The beds appear to be pretty simple, with mats placed on top of rectangular mounds of mud.

Goldberg points out that 'at least there are pillows' as he gives one of the beds a test

'Not bad for $2 a night. I could sleep here easily,' he exclaims.

Venturing back to daylight, Goldberg discovers the kitchen in the backyard, with a stove fashioned out of bricks.

Apparently Chifundu started digging the hotel in 1974 and finished his project in 1985.

Goldberg says there is no electricity or internet in the area.

While it might not make for the most comfortable of stays, Goldberg concludes: 'Chifundu is an amazing person who is as happy as I’ve ever seen a human being.

'It's worth coming here just to meet him.'

Goldberg, who has been to more than 130 countries since 2012 making videos via his blog 'Drew Binsky' and Facebook, plans to hit Bhutan for his next adventure.

The seven wonders of the mysterious town in Oyo

This small town is home to a fascinating history and tourist attractions.

The seven wonders of Ado-Awaye in Oyo  (Naijatreks)

Ado-Awaye has been gaining media attention for a while now, after it was found to house the only other suspended lake in the world.

Rich in history and culture, Ado-Awaye is quickly becoming the tourist's paradise. From its formation to its mountains and plains, everything about the small town in Oyo state is a wonder.

Ado-Awaye started in 15000 AD. The Alaafin of Oyo's crown prince, Koyi, who was supposed to become the Alaafin was denied and his younger brother, Onigbogi, took over. In anger, he left Oyo with one of his father’s crowns and decided to go and settle in Otta, his mother’s town. However, he went through plain grounds until he got foot of the Ado Hill, where he saw a smoke. He climbed the mountain and there, he met some escapees from the Dahomey war. Having agreed and discussed with them, they decided to make him King of Ado.

In this article, we highlight the tourist attractions that make Ado-Awaye a wonder.

1. Iyake Lake

The seven wonders of Ado-Awaye in Oyo  (African Travels)

Iyake Lake is the only recognized suspended/hanging lake in Africa – one of the only two in the world after the Hanging Lake in Colorado. It has been named as one of the fascinating sites to visit in Nigeria as well as one of the seven wonders of Nigeria. is said to be bottomless and have swallowed those who have tried to measure its depth. Till today, whoever enters the lake never comes out of it. It is said to be the main god of fertility of the Mountain. The villagers believe that beneath the lake exists another world that looks like the earth, and whoever transits into that world by diving into the lake will never be able to return to our own world again.

2. Agbómofúnyàké

Agbómofúnyàké literally means "collects child and gives to iyake". This little hole is located just beside the iyake lake. It is believed that, whenever the hole has water in it, whoever puts his leg into it gets dragged to the bottom of iyake lake.

3. Ìyá-Aláró Lake

It is also one of the numerous lakes on the mountain. The lake was named after an old woman in the Ado-Awaye village, who specializes in dying of clothes. It is said that the old woman, known as “Iya Alaro”, worships the lakes and sacrifices to it at specific times during the year. The lake is characterized by a gloomy depth which underscores its association with Iya Alaro and its surface and surrounding is bedecked with a lush overgrowth of colourful vegetation.

4. Oke Ishage (Ishage Rock)

Ishage Rock is the bringer of rain for the Ado-Awaye people. It is a large elongated boulder of rock, balanced and standing upright on one of its small edges. The fact that this boulder has not fallen off the steep mountain side on which it rests remains a mystery to the Ado-Awaye people and tourists visiting the mountain.

Whenever it doesn’t rain and rain is needed, the chief priest goes to the rock, covers the "waist" of the rock with a white cloth, then rain falls for 3-4 days straight.

5. Esè àwon Àgbà

The seven wonders of Ado-Awaye in Oyo  (Naijatreks)

Esè àwon Àgbà translates to “the footprint of the elders”. It is a cluster of large “footprints” found all over the mountain. It is believed that the gods once walked over the mountain to protect the locals during the time the locals stayed up the mountain.

6. The Elephant Tree

The seven wonders of Ado-Awaye in Oyo  (Eat tech travel)

This is composed of the tangled trunk or root of a fallen tree which dramatically takes the form of the head and trunk of an elephant. The eyes of the elephant are also well represented on the formation. Hikers on the mountain are often tempted to climb the formation and sit on the ‘elephant’s head’ while posing for photos.

7. Esè kan Aiyé Esè kan Òrun

This is a wide and deep chasm on the mountain which separates one part of the mountain from the other part which hosts the peak of the mountain. Only brave mountain climbers dare cross this valley as the rock slopes steeply along the valley walls. Only a narrow, very steep and slippery path across the valley, links the two parts of the mountain.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde cries out after her photo gets edited

Veteran actress, philanthropist and former model, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has taken to social media to cry out after she spotted an outrageously edited photo of herself online

The beautiful mother and wife of a pilot who was evidently not finding it funny, shared the hilarious photo which she captioned;

“’ I mean , Who did this? What’s wrong with you people? “

In a push to boost diversity, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde is among the new members invited to join the group behind the Oscars film awards.

The reports had been received by many Nigerians with shock and excitement as though the actress has never received the award up until now, she is going to be one of those who would decide which entertainer deserves to be nominated

The curvy actress appears to be stopping at nothing to attain success of her own, as well as balance her home front to keep her marriage

Some of the names invited alongside Ekeinde and Odugbemi include Daniel Kaluuya, Mindy Kaling, Tiffany Haddish, Kumail Nanjiani, Blake Lively, Amy Schumer, Olivia Munn, Kal Penn, Pedro Pascal, Amber Tamblyn, Damon Wayans, Gina Rodriguez, Sarah Silverman, Jada Pinkett Smith and Evan Rachel Wood.

In 1995, at the age of 16, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde started the journey to becoming a Nollywood legend with the movie, “Venom of Justice.”

But it was her portrayal of a sickle-cell patient in the 1995 movie “Mortal Inheritance” that placed her as a potential star. A widely acknowledged classic, “Mortal Inheritance” has remained relatable over time and is arguably one of the actress’ best works yet.

She followed up her remarkable breakout role with the 1998 movie “Scores to Settle,” which starred her as the demon-possessed Sade, alongside Richard Mofe Damijo and Liz Benson.

Ever since then, her career has been nothing but diverse with household movies such as “Blood Sister,” “Lost Kingdom,” “Games Women Play,” “The Tribunal,” “Alter Ego” and “I Belong.”

Samsung phones are spontaneously texting users’ photos to random contacts without their permission

Protect the nudes

Photo by Amelia Holowaty Krales / The Verge

Bad news for Samsung phone owners: some devices are randomly sending your camera roll photos to your contacts without permission. As first spotted by Gizmodo, users are complaining about the issue on Reddit and the company’s official forums. One user says his phone sent all his photos to his girlfriend. The messages are being sent through Samsung’s default texting app Samsung Messages. According to reports, the Messages app does not even show users that files have been sent; many just find out after they get a response from the recipient of the random photos sent to them.

A Samsung spokesperson tells The Vergeit’s “aware of the reports” and that its technical teams are “looking into it.” The forums indicate that Galaxy S9 and S9+ devices are affected, but may not be the only ones afflicted with the bug. Samsung is encouraging those experiencing this issue to call the company directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

Some users are speculating that this issue has to do with the push of RCS messaging updates, including T-Mobile, which is the carrier for at least one of the affected phones. T-Mobile just issued its RCS update this week, starting with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The messaging standard is supposed to make texting look more like chatting in a modern messaging app, complete with read receipts and typing indicators. When reached for comment, a T-Mobile spokesperson told The Verge to “check in with Samsung on this, it’s not a T-Mobile issue.”

For now, Samsung owners can revoke Samsung Message’s permissions to access storage to avoid the bug from sending their files out in the wild.

Cristiano Ronaldo signs for Juventus after passing medical

Former Bianconeri CEO, Luciano Moggi has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo has signed for Serie A champions Juventus after passing a medical in Munich.

This is coming after Juventus made a bid of €100 million (£88m/$116m) for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer after nine seasons at Santiago Bernabeu.

The 80-year-old told Italian TV network Tele7Gold “In my opinion, he has already signed and passed the medical examination with Juventus in Munich.

“This is what I think after talking to important people.”

Moggi recalled his attempts to make Ronaldo a Juventus player in 2002, when he was emerging from the Sporting CP youth ranks and becoming one of the Primeira Liga’s hottest talents.

A proposed transfer involving Chilean striker Marcelo Salas moving in the opposite direction never transpired, according to Moggi, and Ronaldo joined Manchester United in 2003.

“I received an alert,” said the former Juve chief. “I sent an observer to look at him, he was an 18-year-old boy, but he impressed me with his maturity and his choices.

“In the middle of the day I made the contract. Unfortunately, Marcelo Salas refused to sign for Sporting Lisbon because he wanted to return to River Plate.

“Don’t Drag Me Into Your Negativity” — Nina Blasts Alex, After She Did This Ridiculous Thing [See Full Gist]

It seems all is not well former Big Brother Naija housemates Alex and Nina as both seemed to have subtly shade each other in different post on Instagram.

This all started when Alex shared a photo of herself rocking a Henna hand dye on her timeline which is quite similar to a style Nina previous rocked and shared on her page.

One of Nina’s fans who didn’t seem to be fine with the design on Alex’s body called her out and asked if she has to copy everything that Nina does.

Collins wrote:

“Must you copy? Copying nina tattoo will not make you fine, smh”.

Then Alex fired back at the fan:

“Bla ewu ah, first off it’s not a tattoo. Second of all, it wasn’t made for anybody in particular as many people have done it before and will still do it, third of all, lunatics are not allowed to comment here, I can hear your doctor call. It’s time for your medication. Now run along and play with sand.”

“You will tell me when nina invented henna. (bia did I spell it well biko?) Anumpam.”

One of Nina’s fans must have notified her on the mention or she spotted it herself. So in her response she took to her InstaStory and requested that no one should mention her name in their problems.

See her post below;

We are patiently waiting for where this Instagram war between two beauty queens will lead to.
