Photos: Congregants experiencing health issues after being sprayed with insecticide by South African prophet

20-year-old Thabiso Chabalala on Wednesday, told the court that she spent seven months coughing and with swollen eyes after Prophet Lethebo Rabalago sprayed her with insecticide.

Prophet Rabalago from the Mountzion General Assembly in Limpopo, South Africa, who has styled himself as a prophet, was charged with five counts of assault and contravening environmental laws after images of him spraying congregants with Doom went viral in November last year.

Chabalala (pictured) testified in the ongoing trial against Lethebo Rabalago at the Mookgophong Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

This is Rabalago's second legal battle after the provincial health department obtained an interdict in the Limpopo High Court against him in May.

Chabalala told the court that she regretted allowing Rabalago to spray the pesticide on her. She said she responded to calls for the sick to come forward during a church service at Phomolong township last year.

Presiding magistrate Frans Mahodi asked Chabalala how she felt when she saw Rabalago holding the insecticide can.

"I was taken by surprise. I thought that was how God instructed him to conduct the healing," she responded.

Chabalala said she was sprayed with Doom twice on the same day and became dizzy. She said at first she thought the dizziness was part of the healing process, but she started experiencing health problems later on.

"I regret it," she said.

The state had also called a Grade 11 pupil who claimed he had to get help from a clinic after Rabalago sprayed him.

The 17-year-old said he had gone to the church to seek prayers because his neck was painful. Rabalago's defence lawyer, Edmond Lubisi, said his client had never met the teenager.

"It is my client's version that he does not know you or remember seeing you at his church," Lubisi said.

Earlier, Catherine Mabitsela, a legislation chief inspector at the provincial department of agriculture, testified that Rabalago's practices were misleading.

Mabitsela said Rabalago had not used the product according to regulations.

In an interview with eNCA.com last November, Rabalago claims that the insect killer is to heal people with cancer, HIV or any other illness.

On whether he considers the danger of the chemical spray to the eyes and other body parts, he said:

"With us, we believe in God is for all things. People are getting their deliverance."

Federal Government says power generation will Increase by 1,129 Mega Watts In 2018

The Federal Government this week announced that when some power generation projects were completed by 2018, they could generate additional 1,129 Mega Watts to the current 7,000 Mega Watts in the country.

Minster of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, said this at the 22nd monthly meeting of stakeholders in the power sector at Geregu, Kogi.

Fashola said “the Azura power plant will give us another 450MW; I know that we will also get 10MW of wind power from Katsina State. I know that we will get 115MW from Gbari and 30MW from Kashimbila. From Afam III, we will give 240MW of power in 2018, while Gurara is working to deliver 30MW, as Dadinkowa in Gombe will provide 29MM and Kaduna will generate 215 MW. All these power plants do not involve the mini grids and solar systems that are coming.”

The minister explained that in spite of the attainment of the current 7,000MW in the country, 2,000MW of the total power was not being distributed to Nigerians. He said it was important to devise means of taking the unutilised 2,000MW to Nigerians who needed power, noting that “we cannot afford to keep power; that is not good for business, especially those who invested in it. One of the steps we are taking with the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPH) is to try and complete some of the distribution projects under the Nigerian National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) projects. In Kogi, the distribution project that will affect the people positively are the ones in Okene, Igba, which will be completed in the first quarter of 2018.”

Fashola said the narrative must change from not enough power to how unutilised power could be distributed. He explained that he had contacted the President of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) to discuss how its members could key into the undistributed power.

He added that “Director Generator, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and other chambers of commerce had been contacted on how to take up the 2000 unused megawatts

He attributed the success recorded in the sector so far to government polices, “especially the provision of N701 billion assurance guarantee fund that enabled the payment to gas suppliers by Generating Companies (Gencos).

“The assurance guarantee brought confidence to power production business, which resulted to increased power production which took us to all-time high of 7,000MW power availability. As at Dec. 5, 2017, power supply stood at 5,019MW, which was below the 5,074 MW achieved in January 2016. However, grid supplied power peaked at all-time high of 5,155 MW on Dec 8, an increase over the January 2016 figure of 5,074 MW” he said.

He said the success was due to teamwork and leadership provided by President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice-President Yemi Osinbanjo and other stakeholders. He then urged stakeholders to join hands in solving the problems in the sector, saying it was a privilege to be involved in salvaging the challenges in the sector.

Nigerian lady who rained curses and accused her husband of domestic violence reconciles with him, says she lied against her husband

A few weeks ago, a lady identified as Lyrnda Onwuali went viral after she made a post on Facebook calling out her husband. She accused him of being abusive and revealed that he is financially dependent on her. (read here)

She has returned on Facebook with another username to apologize to her husband saying that she told lies against him because she was angry.

According to her, all the allegations she made about her husband are untrue and that she did it in order to express her anger over something that is now insignificant. She shared new loved-up photos with her husband and wrote;

Hello Everyone, I a Lyrnda Onwunali (formerly ) but temporarily Zymmie David on here (Zymmie is the pet name for Ozioma, which happen to be my native name & David is one of the names given to my newly born son). I needed to change to this new name so as to prevent being easily identified by some unfamiliar accounts as I became an easy target for many who decided to turn themselves to an enemy.
By the way, on the 4th & 5th of October, 2017, I had a very silly post on here about my hubby "Okpoebo Chidozie" go viral; a result of plain anger on my side (which the bible explicitly stated "lies in the bossom of fools") & of impulsivity. And even though that post might have provided a lot of opportunities to rain abuse on me by some and a source of sheer entertainment for many others; I'd like to state here that none of those characters stated in that post defines or portrays my husband, no, not even one of it. In a bid to express my anger over what now seem to be a highly insignificant issue, I apparently did hurt my own very self and ego & so would agree that I deserved every single insult I did receive.
I'd like to sincerely apologize to my husband OKPOEBO CHIDOZIE, the father of my own son, Ryan Somtochukwu Chibuike; my pride, my strength, and my heartbeat & to ask him to please forgive me for that momentary madness, for letting the devil have his moment . I'd also like to ask for the forgiveness of my ever-loving mum, brothers, sisters, very highly genuine friends, especially #Ebenebe Chinedu* *sobs* and my pastor for disappointing them so badly but more importantly, I want to thank yall for the moral support, sound advice and fervent prayers y'all offered. Thank you all for never leaving me when it looked like the entire world was against me. Y'all made me feel very loved and strong again, you were there when I needed you the most.
I'd also like to state that the sanity and peace in our home have been fully restored and that my husband, our son, Ryan and myself are happily back together as one family. Thank you so very much, my hubby, for letting us have our home, our pride and our peace back. I love you so very much my heart; I could never have asked for a more understanding and forgiving husband; may God Almighty continue to grow, enlarge, keep, protect, direct and bless you for our young family. I love you from the very bottom of my heart. May God bless you always.

Unrepentant bodybuilding convict who was jailed in Poland and Germany is now jailed in the UK for raping a woman in 3-hour horror attack

An unrepentant bodybuilding convict from Poland has been jailed for six years for entering into a woman's house and aggressively raping her in a 3-hour horror attack in the UK.

The culprit, Robert Chodyra, 46, is said to have punched and raped his victim during a three-hour ordeal of 'cruel, sadistic, prolonged, repeated torture,' at her apartment.

A court heard that there was 'blood everywhere' and the violent incident had left her feeling 'horrible' after he raped her and punched her up to 15 times,

According to Mail Online, Chodyra of Grimsby, Lincolnshire, admitted rape on August 6.

The 46-year-old who's originally from Poland had been jailed in Germany for eight years for attempted murder and attempted aggravated blackmail by robbery, carrying a semi-automatic handgun and possessing ammunition in July 2009. He was also jailed in his native Poland for a long period of time before he moved to Britain.

Prosecuting officer, Craig Lowe, told the court that the 31-year-old woman was tired and, at 7pm, went upstairs in her home to take a nap.

According to him, she awoke after sleeping for a while and discovered that Chodyra was in her bedroom after walking into her unsecured house. She asked him what he was doing there and he repeatedly told her that he wanted to have sex with her.

Mr. Lowe said: 'She did not think for one moment that he was serious. She realised it wasn't a joke and he was indeed serious.'

Chodyra walked into the woman's house, found her in her bedroom asleep and carried out a terrifying three-hour attack

The woman told Chodyra: 'Please just go away. Leave me. Don't do this.'

Mr. Lowe continued: 'He was punching her repeatedly to the face.'He kept hold of her by her shoulder. There was blood everywhere.

'He punched her again. She lost consciousness. She started to cry, pleading with the defendant: 'Please leave me alone. Please leave me'.'

Chodyra continued having sex with her and she tried to run away but he took hold of her and continued.

Mr. Lowe added: 'He punched her again in the face.'

After he escaped, she stayed in bed crying until her boyfriend returned home and alerted the Police.

The woman, now 32, who believed that her ordeal lasted for about three hours and that Chodyra punched her 10 to 15 times, said in a statement that she felt 'horrible physically and mentally' and that her daily life had changed as a result.

The victim was on eight different medications to cope and had considered suicide.

Mitigating officer, Glenn Parsons, said that Chodyra had shown remorse and pleaded guilty at a very early stage.

Mr. Parsons said: 'It was serious. Prolonged violence was used.' Recorder Peter Makepeace QC told Chodyra: 'She begged you to leave. You repeatedly punched her to the face.

'She was obviously distraught and she must have presented to you as incredibly upset, vulnerable and incapable of stopping you but you continued. This was repeated behaviour and throughout she was begging you to stop.'

'The effect on her psychologically has been severe. The attack has had a devastating effect on her relationship and her daily life. She is seeking counselling to try to deal with the horror of what you did to her.

'What you did was everybody's absolute worst nightmare. This case can't be described as anything other than cruel, sadistic, prolonged, repeated torture.

'It's clear you got sexual pleasure not just from the sexual act itself but from the violence and fear you used towards your victim.'This is a very serious offence of violence.'

Chodyra was jailed for six years and must register as a sex offender for life.  He will also be on extended license after his release.
