Why I named my dog ‘Buhari’ — Trader

The Police in Ogun State, yesterday, released unconditionally, the 30-year-old trader, Joe Fortemose Chinakwe, who was arrested last Saturday for naming his pet dog ‘Buhari’. The embattled trader, Chinakwe. The embattled trader, Chinakwe. The embattled trader, who was visibly angry after his three-day incarceration in police cell, was let off the hook around 5pm on Tuesday after the intervention of both the Serkin Hausa and President-General of non-indigenes in the state. It was learned that the prompt intervention of the elders made the complainant to withdraw the case he reported against the trader at Sango-Ota division which was later transferred to Police headquarters at Eleweran. However, police sources said both the complainant and suspect were made to sign an undertaking not to cause any breach of peace again. Speaking to Vanguard after this release, the trader, a father of two from the Niger Delta, who trades on second hand clothing lamented that he was made to suffer for no just cause. Complainant from Niger Republic Narrating his ordeal, Chinakwe said “It is annoying because the complainant is from Niger Republic and I am sure he is one of those illegal aliens in this country. He connived with one Police Sergeant from the Northern part of Nigeria called Musa, who works at Sango Police division to humiliate me. Worse still, the Divisional Police Officer there, did not help matters as he refused to entertain any plea from me after I was arrested that Saturday night. He simply ordered his men to throw me into the cell.” Why dog was named Buhari Continuing, he said “I did not commit any offence. I named my beloved pet dog Buhari, who is my hero. My admiration for Buhari started far back when he was a military Head of State. It continued till date that he is a civilian President. After reading his dogged fight against corruption, which is like a canker worm eating into the very existence of this country, I solely decided to rename my beloved dog which I called Buhari, after him. I did not know that I was committing an offence for admiring Buhari. Ordeal with Police “I was intimidated and thrown inside the cell with hardened criminals for about three days. While I was there, the complainant from Niger Republic and Sergeant Musa from the North kept on taunting me saying people from my part of the country are trouble makers and that after detaining me, they will throw me into prison where I will die unsung. ”Even when my wife came with our baby on her back, they stopped her from giving me food. One of my friends that came to see me was also maltreated. “While taking me to Eleweran the next day, they handcuffed and chained me together with that my friend. Fortunately, when we got to police headquarters, both the Commissioner of Police and other officers were angry with their colleagues at Sango-Ota. ”They were wondering loudly why I was brought to the headquarters over such a minor case. It’s very unfortunate that I have to be so humiliated in my own country because of the antics of a foreigner in connivance with my brother from the North.”

Arsenal sign Lucas Perez

Arsenal completed a move for Spanish striker Lucas Perez on Tuesday as the clock ticked down towards Wednesday’s 2200 GMT deadline in the mid-year transfer window.
Premier League clubs have already surpassed their previous record of 870 million pounds ($1.1 billion, one billion euros) of spending in a single window, and that could soar above one billion pounds by the deadline.
British media reports said Arsenal had paid Depotivo La Coruna around 17 million pounds to sign 27-year-old Perez.
“He’s not only a goalscorer, he’s a guy who combines well with partners, who can give a final ball and makes good runs,” Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told the club website.

“He’s got a good eye for goal and had an outstanding season last year.”
Perez scored 19 goals for Deportivo last season, including 17 in La Liga.
Arsenal are reported to have seen off competition from Premier League rivals Everton to secure his signature.
Perez follows Swiss international midfielder Granit Xhaka, Japanese forward Takuma Asano and young English centre-back Rob Holding in arriving at Arsenal during the transfer window.
The north London club are also believed to be close to signing Germany defender Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia for around 35 million pounds.
Jack Wilshere, meanwhile, could be about to leave the Emirates Stadium, amid reports he will be allowed to join another club on loan.
The England midfielder, 24, made only three appearances due to injury last season and has slipped further down Wenger’s midfield pecking order following Xhaka’s arrival from Borussia Moenchengladbach.
– Manchester moneybags –
The English top flight’s other big clubs kept their powder dry on the transfer front on Tuesday.
England goalkeeper Joe Hart was poised to complete a season-long loan move to Italian side Torino after falling out of favour under new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.
Chelsea allowed two strikers to go out on loan, with France international Loic Remy moving to Crystal Palace and 22-year-old Englishman Patrick Bamford joining promoted Burnley’s effort to stay up.
Spending in the Premier League has rocketed after new television rights deals worth an estimated eight billion pounds took effect on the eve of the season.
Hull City became the latest club to break their transfer record when they signed English midfielder Ryan Mason from Tottenham Hotspur for an undisclosed fee.
The spending has not been confined to the top flight, either. Aston Villa paid a Championship-record 15 million pounds to sign striker Jonathan Kodjia from second-tier rivals Bristol City.
The two Manchester clubs have been the major players during the transfer window, with Manchester United and Manchester City each reported to have spent close to 150 million pounds on new players.
United set a new world transfer record by spending a reported 89 million pounds to bring French midfielder Paul Pogba back to the club from Juventus.
Jose Mourinho’s side also spent big on Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, as well as acquiring Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain.
Guardiola has prioritised youth at City, putting his faith in burgeoning talents such as John Stones, Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus.

Fiery Beyonce dominates MTV awards

Beyonce on Sunday dominated the MTV Video Music Awards as she won a near-record award haul and awed the audience with a fiery dance medley with an unstated political message.Beyonce posing with her grammyBeyonce posing with her grammy The pop superstar won Video of the Year for “Formation,” the most controversial work of her career, as she took home eight of the 11 awards for which she was nominated. “Formation,” the first single off her intertwined film and album “Lemonade,” was shot in New Orleans and inspired by the city’s Creole culture, its bounce hip-hop scene and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. “I dedicate this award to the people of New Orleans. God bless you guys,” Beyonce told the gala at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Beyonce stole the spotlight by performing for more than 16 minutes songs from “Lemonade,” managing even to change outfits in a set that culminated in the stage erupting in fire. In one of the most striking moments, a series of gun-shots rang out as her dancers, in angelic white dresses, each dropped to the ground in a red fog. The video for “Formation,” directed by Melina Matsoukas, had offered solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement against police brutality with officers portrayed raising their hands as if under arrest. Beyonce invited to the show, broadcast to more than 120 countries, the mothers of four young African American men whose deaths have galvanized the United States — Michael Brown, Eric Garner, Oscar Grant and Trayvon Martin. Martin, 17, was killed in 2012 by a white neighborhood guard, a catalyst moment for Black Lives Matter. Brown, Garner and Grant were all killed by law enforcement. Singer Alicia Keys offered another of the night’s powerful moments as she recited a poem inspired by civil rights hero Martin Luther King Jr. who delivered his landmark “I Have a Dream” speech in Washington 53 years ago Sunday. In a year marred by global conflict and a bitter US presidential race, Keys, moving seamlessly from spoken word to a cappella, said: “If war is holy and sex is obscene, then we got it twisted in this lucid dream.” “Maybe we can love somebody / instead of polishing the bombs of holy war.” – Kanye talks Kanye – At eight awards, Beyonce tied her contemporary Lady Gaga and Norway’s a-ha — a sensation in MTV’s early years — for the second biggest win in a single night. Peter Gabriel retains the record, set in 1987 after his animation-driven “Sledgehammer.” In one of the night’s most anticipated moments, rap superstar Kanye West — who last year used the occasion to declare his intention to run for president in 2020 — delivered a nearly stream-of-consciousness speech about empowerment. As the audience chanted his stage-name Yeezy, West likened his creative talent to that of Apple founder Steve Jobs and entertainment pioneer Walt Disney, and said that unnamed wealthy white people had warned him not to make the comparison. He defended his “Famous,” also up for Video of the Year, which depicted clean-cut pop star Taylor Swift naked in bed with him despite her complaints about the song. Also seen naked with West in the video are Republican presidential contender Donald Trump, known for his hardline anti-immigration stance, and fashion editor Anna Wintour. “We came over in the same boat. Now we all in the same bed,” West said, before clarifying that the on-screen lovers arrived on “maybe different boats.” West then presented a racy new video for his song “Fade” featuring actress and singer Teyana Taylor, who moved her body sensually in a gym before a steamy shower scene. The video marked a theme in the evening, if accidental, of sexualized exercise. Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj received roars of crowd approval for a sensual take on a workout, with the pop singer and rapper dancing together in a stage transformed into a gym full of highly physical young men. – Drake smitten with Rihanna – Drake won in the rap category for “Hotline Bling,” one of the most popular songs of the year. But Drake did not appear to accept the award. According to the presenter, rap icon Puff Daddy, the Toronto star got stuck in New York traffic. Drake however did show up to present the Video Vanguard Award — named after late King of Pop Michael Jackson — to Rihanna, in recognition to her contributions to pop culture. Drake gushed that Rihanna was “someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22.” The 28-year-old Rihanna put on four medleys of her songs throughout the show in outfits that began with a snug white T-shirt. In an acceptance speech, Rihanna pledged never to forget her native Barbados.

Lightening storm kills 323 reindeers in Norway

Oslo- A freak lightning storm has killed 323 reindeer in a remote mountainous area of Norway, officials have said. Dead animals were found lying on top of each other, many with their antlers entangled after the thunderstorm on the Hardanger plateau in southern Norway. “We have never had anything like this with lightening,” Kjartan Knutsen of Norway’s Nature Surveillance Agency said. Knutsen added that there were sometimes isolated cases of sheep or reindeer struck down. Reindeer tend to group together when in danger. It was unclear whether the herd had been killed by a single lightning bolt or several. Hardanger was extremely wet on Friday, helping conduct lighetning. “The high moisture in both the ground and the air was probably an explanation for why so many animals died,” Olav Strand, a Senior Researcher at the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research said. Experts flew in by helicopter to take samples of the dead reindeer amid a rising stench of decay as part of a project to monitor elk and deer for diseases. Five of the 323 animals were found alive, but badly injured and were shot by wildlife officials. It was unclear what would happen to the bodies. One option was to leave them to decay. “It is part of the natural ecology, this is far from where people live,’’Knutsen said. Hardanger has about 12,000 reindeer, and hunters are allowed to shoot 2,000 a year for their meet.

Thanks to cheeky inventor the eggplant is now a reality

Say hello to the Emojibrator, a $32 sex toy shaped like the eggplant emoji. It's creator, Jaime Jandler says it all started out as a joke, speaking to Cosmopolitan Magazine she said: 'You know, what about eggplant vibrators? It was kind of a joke and then I was like ... wait, this actually could be awesome,' she said.

Made of purple and green silicone, the Emojibrator is waterproof and has 10 different vibration settings. It is being promoted with the tagline, 'If you can't find a date, emojibate' and cheekily purports to provide a 'healthy serving of vitamin D'.
Jaime says she hopes product will be a great way to start conversations about masturbation and 'remove the taboo associated with it'.  'There are countless benefits of masturbation, and sex shouldn't have to be taken so seriously all of the time,' she told Mic.com.

'My goal is to create something that would be perfect for both someone purchasing their first sex toy and a more experienced customer looking to add a touch of humor to their collection.' There is however one striking difference between the pleasuring device and an actual eggplant, size.

Donald Trump challenges Hillary Clinton to release detailed medical records

Donald Trump this morning took to Twitter to ask presidential rival Hillary Clinton to release her 'detailed' medical records saying he would also release his own

Trump has for some time now tried to portray Clinton as without sufficient stamina to serve as president but a Clinton campaign spokes person said Sunday night that Clinton "is the only candidate in the race who has met the standard expected of presidential candidates and provided a detailed medical letter by her long time physician."

"Donald Trump has put forward a laughable letter that omits basic health information including the date of his exam, past medications, family medical history, heart rate, respiratory rate, EKG, or cholesterol level. Instead of continuing to push discredited conspiracy theories, Donald Trump needs to produce a real doctor's letter, written by a credible doctor, that details the state of his health for voters," Glen Caplin said in a Clinton campaign statement .

Clinton recently addressed the claims off 'ill health' when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's show, calling it "part of the wacky strategy"
