» Nigerians React To 2016 GCE Results Released By WAEC «

Stakeholders in the education sector received the news of the release of the 2016 November/December West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE, with mixed reactions.

Some respondents commended the improved performance of the students in the result released by the West African Examination Council, WAEC, in Lagos on Friday compared to the 2014 and 2015 editions.
Other stakeholders, however, harped on the need for a significant improvement that would impact on the quality of education generally in the country.

Olu Adenipekun, Head of the National Office of WAEC, who announced the release of the release of the results, said that there was an improvement compared to candidates’ performance in the same examination in the 2014 and 2015 diets.

Similarly, Elizabeth Obande, a secondary school teacher, while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Sunday praised the performance of the students.
Ms. Obande stated that the performance showed an improvement and congratulated students who passed with credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics.
According to her, the seven per cent that engaged in malpractice is insignificant compared to the positive result recorded.
“The percentage of students whose results were seized due to examination malpractice is insignificant compared to those who passed.
“Comparing this year’s result to that of 2014 and 2015 as announced by WAEC, 2016 result was better and that indicates that there is progress in the education sector.
“I want to encourage teachers not to relent in their efforts because the result shows the knowledge they have imparted in the students.
“The students also should ensure they work hard by reading, their books and avoid being distracted by the social media; with this the country can record better results in the future.’’
She said that the recent quality assurance training carried out in schools emphasised on the importance of quality students and not just teachers.
She noted that the performance was evidence of such training.
Meanwhile, Samuel Ogbe, a parent, noted that though the performance was better than the two previous years, there was the need for improvement.
He said that the government should invest more in the education sector to enable the country to attain up to 80 per cent excellent results in external examinations.
Mr. Ogbe suggested that students’ workload should be reduced and that obtaining credit in Mathematics and English should not be compulsory criteria for admission into university.
According to him, students should focus on their area of specialisation instead of writing subjects not relevant to their courses.
He cited the example of art students writing Mathematics and Science students writing English in external examinations.
For James Ogwu, a post-graduate student, the result was not encouraging.
He said that only 39 per cent passing with credit in Mathematics and English was not good for a country like Nigeria.
He, however, noted that the performance was not unexpected since most people who wrote the examination had been out of school for a while.
According to him, being out of school can affect their performance as the Internet and social media have made students deviate from the tradition of reading their books.
“Most of them can spend hours on the phone browsing Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and even playing games on the Net and spend little hours on their books even when they have exams ahead of them.
“The drive for technology has overtaken the need to read by students and it is not healthy for the education system.
“Government and stakeholders in the sector should find a way to marry technology and education for a better Nigeria,” Mr. Ogbe said.

Lady describes how her boobs grew to a size 38T within 3 years

This IG model, HaruHi MiWaKo who lives in Amsterdam, describes how she went from having big boobs to having super big boobs all within a 3 year period. She says the breast growth is caused by a condition known as (Juvenile) macromastia. She also talked about how she tried to visit the US but was denied visa because she had her cell phone with her during the interview. The photo of her above on the left was in 2013.  Read her story below:

The photo of her in green was in 2014.
She wrote:
"Hello you,
Thank you for showing interest in me. Now let me tell you something about me. I am HaruHi MiWaKo (Himiwako) and am blessed by Mother Nature to look the way that I do. I enjoy life and I hope you do too! Gaming, anime, playing the violin and piano are amongst the favourite things I like to do. What I like doing most is making people smile, just by walking down the street, or by playing games with an audience.
"My breast growth started March 2013 and it has been growing in varying stages throughout the years. The condition is called (juvenile) macromastia or (juvenile) gigantomastia [both are the same condition just different names for it].
It does not bother me that my boobs are this huge, they are healthy and that’s what matters. Back pain is something I do not suffer from, and I do wear custom bras, so shopping for lingerie is quite the challenge.
I have one custom made bra. It was crazy expensive (€650). But its not really good it doesn't fit good actually. I wear my custom bra with another tight bra underneath to keep my breasts up.
I have of course thought of breast reduction but I live by the creed "Everything for a reason". I will eventually have to reduce. I hope not for a while just praying they don't grow too rapidly.
Yes I do have names for my boobs. Rightboob: Boob-Lee. Leftboob: Boobafina. Named them after Bruce Lee and other boob a character from "Adventure time"
"I hope you folks will follow me on my journey through life and I wish you get some insight in what it’s like to live with the genetic gifts that have been given to me.”

She captioned this photo:
This was January 2014.Miss my skinny legs sometimes😮 Here I just got my new (UK) J cup bra. I didn't like it. My mom here telling me to fix my face to make a pic hence my fake expression on my face😯 To me they looked so pointy and were covering my entire boobs and I always like my boobs looking round in my bra.#tbt#Fbf#smallboobies#aaaaachoo... Blessyoubreastme#hellokitty
"Back in my city 😄 Yes I was tired and a little bit sad. Tired because I was drinking bottles of champagne all night and then only slept like 3 hours and had to fix my visa situation next morning where I got rejected because I had my mobile phone with me and it's not allowed to bring it to the US Embassy so I was sad about that yes. But happy to be in Amsterdam"

An Open letter to Youths...especially those who want to 'die for Nigerian politicians'

The Photo above was shared via social media and the caption read;
Dear Nigerian Youths who want to die for Nigerian politicians, especially that youth who will fight everyone when his political hero is criticized, come closer.
I have a message for you. Inside this private jet, you will see the billionaire son Ahmed Indimi of billionaire Mohammed Indimi (he is the one in front to the right looking at the camera) who just married Zahra, Buhari's daughter, to his left, also in front, is his
Brother, Maikanti, who is married to Aisha Dangote and behind them in light blue is Babagana Sherrif, he is the brother of former Borno governor Ali Modu Sheriff and he is married to president Buhari's daughter, Halima, the one who just finished from law school. Take a second look at your destiny as the children of the politicians have already arranged their own destinies.

In this photo, you will see people from PDP and APC background from different tribes from different states but they are all united because the elite is all one big family. They do not care about any religious, political, tribal or ethnic difference, the only thing they care about is whatever agenda that will secure their future & guarantee their own prosperity & of their generations unborn. So before you die for your APC or PDP hero, or before you fight the entire community because of any of the artificial divisions created by the intelligent humans to control and subjugate others, rethink your life. Nobody send you o.

Will Donald Trump lose out on being president of the US after today's Electoral college votes? (Must read)

For Anti-Trump supporters, there is still some glimmer of hope that president-elect Donald Trump won't be sworn in as president of the United States come January 2017 due to today's Electoral College votes.

In the recently concluded U.S Presidential election, Trump won the electoral college votes, defeating Clinton in major states, while Clinton won the popular votes, amassing over 2 million votes than her rival.

There's a possibility, though slim, that Trump won't be president if electors in the elctoral college vote decide to vote against the victor and vote against their states' results.

Read the interesting article by CNN.com after the cut.

The 538 members of the Electoral College are set on Monday to make President-elect Donald Trump's victory official.

In all 50 state capitals and the District of Columbia, electors -- chosen by the state parties of the candidate who carried their state, Trump or Hillary Clinton -- will meet to cast their ballots. The gatherings will remove the last bit of drama from 2016's unprecedented election season -- and post-election efforts to persuade Republican electors to vote against Trump, in some cases in violation of state laws requiring electors to support the victor.

Heightening the tension in recent weeks: Clinton actually won the popular vote by about 3 million -- making Trump the worst-performing winner in the popular vote since 1876.

Trump's victory is not, as he has described it, a landslide. He is expected to garner just 56.9% of the electoral vote, assuming all electors vote according to their states' results. That will give Trump the 44th-largest share of the electoral vote out of 54 presidential elections since the modern system started in 1804.

It's a better performance, though, than President George W. Bush's razor-tight victory in 2000 and slightly larger win in 2004.

Bush, too, lost the popular vote -- but Trump lost by a larger margin. He will become the worst-performing president in the popular vote relative to his closest rival aside from Rutherford B. Hayes in 1876 and John Quincy Adams in 1824, an election that featured four candidates and was decided by the House of Representatives.

Clinton won 48.2% of the vote to Trump's 46.2% -- a lead of more than 2.8 million votes and more than 2% as of Friday, with that lead expected to grow as the final ballots are tallied.

There's no national meeting of the Electoral College. Instead, electors gather in each state -- usually in the Capitol.

Under federal law, though, electors must gather on December 19. And each elector must sign six copies certifying their votes for president and vice president.

Two ballots go to the National Archives. One goes to the president of the Senate. Two go to their state's chief elections officer. And one goes to a local judge.

After Monday's votes, there is still one last step: On January 6, Congress has to officially count the electoral votes. Vice President Joe Biden will preside over the count.

Lawmakers can technically object -- in writing, with objections signed by at least one House and one Senate member -- to individual electoral votes or entire states' results. If the House and Senate support that objection, the vote or votes in question are thrown out. But that has never happened.
After the votes are counted, the results are final, and Trump is officially set for his inauguration at noon onJanuary 20.

Photos: RRS arrest 22-year-old student who posed as lady to dupe over 33 men on Instagram

Falope Oluwole Israel, a 22-year old suspect arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command, has disclosed that he duped over 33 men while pretending to be a lady on Instagram.

Falope it was revealed, was arrested when officials of the RRS decoy team, who had been monitoring him for some weeks, trailed him to a popular club in Ikeja City Mall on Thursday evening, before arresting him.
The officers were reported to have monitored him, and those that he was interacting with at the club before arresting him and a colleague late in the night.
It was gathered that the suspect recently celebrated his birthday at Hard & Rock, Lekki, Lagos, week before his arrest, where he lavished over half a million on foods and drinks.
The suspect, a 100 level part time student of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos, who confessed committing the crime, said that he has been in the business for more than two years.
The Police revealed that Falope’s activities on Instagram was placed under investigations when it received a complaint about an Instagram handle @blackberbiedoll, used for criminal activities, which was later traced to him to him.

Apart from @blackberbiedoll, which he prominently used for fraudulent activities, he maintained @froshwhite007 and @froshwhite separately for same purpose.
The complainant, Bernard stated that he got a friend request from @blackberbiedoll.
"Apparently, the picture on the account was that of a lady. The lady in question messaged me on BBM. Honestly, I thought I was chatting with a woman who claimed to be in Nigeria at the time.
"She lied to me that her father was a Nigerian and her mum, a Kenyan, and so we got talking. At a point, she lied that she was building a beauty outfit in Ikota Shopping Mall, VGC and that she was in need of some money to complete the mall,"  Bernard added.
He explained further,
"I had to transfer N1 million to her. Weeks later, I got suspicious of the account name Olawole Israel Oluwaseun Falope. I ran a search on Google, and then discovered it was all scam.... Immediately, I reported the incident to Instagram and that account was blocked and later suspended to prevent others from falling victim."
Another victim, who did not want his identity disclosed said he paid N100,000 into her account to support her bogus fashion outfit.
Admitting the allegation, the suspect noted that since he started the fraudulent act about 2 years ago, he had duped no fewer than 33 men pretending to be a lady on Instagram and that the least amount he received from any of them was N80,000.

When I started, much as I pretended to be a lady on phone, some men on the other side didn’t believe me. I then downloaded an app on Google which transformed my voice into that of a lady whenever I am having conversation.... I got several pictures of Shayla, a pretty United States based lady on my profile. Since then, men have been disturbing me and calling to request for a date,” he stated.
He said,
"What I do is that I assess people based on their appearance on Instagram, add them and thereafter open up conversations with them before I start bringing up all manners of stories in order to dupe them.... At a point, I lied to most of them that I had an accident and I lost my ATM. I told them that I need some money. Some of them were generous enough to drop money into my account.”
“I lied to them that I was putting up a  boutique and saloon at Ikota, VGC and Lekki, and that I need money to finish setting up.... I know I made a mistake downloading Shayla’s pictures and used them for fraudulent purposes. I am telling you the truth, those that I have collected money from cant be more than 33,” he explained.
Investigations revealed that the owner of the profile pictures the suspect used, @Shayla had complained to Instagram that some Nigerians were using her profile pictures to scam unsuspecting members of the public.
It was also disclosed that the suspect claimed to be a friend of Toke Makinwa, Tonto Dike, Don jazzy, Peter Okoye, Toyin Aihmaku, Tee Y Mix, Oristsefemi, Timaya, Sean Tizzle, Dami Adenuga, Femi Otedola, Mike Adenuga jnr, Ramsey Noah e.t.c.
"I know all of them. I attend a lot of shows, I meet them, take photographs with them, even exchange numbers. Like sister Toke Makinwa, Tonto Dike, Uncle Ramsey Noah, these are the kind of celebrities I look up to and I want to be like them," he stated.
But RRS investigators confirmed that he was following a lot of Nigerian celebrities on Instagram but they could not confirm if any of them fell prey to Falope's antics, as many his Instagram chats with them got no response.
They added that a Ghanian business man who Falope claimed to have met at a popular club in Nigeria rebuffed his request to engage him in a chat.
They noted that Falope claims of been a half-cast, Fashion designer, stylist, cosmetologist, model were all part his fraud to make people fall for him. He was never a trainee or a specialist in any of this.
Our source added that he is not an half-cast as he claimed to be, rather he bleached his skin.
"He didn’t deny this claim. He admitted bleaching his skin to escape the taunting of girls that he was a very ugly guy,” the source stated.
Items recovered from the suspect included, an iphone 6, 1 Samsung Galaxy A5, an Apple tablet, hand and neck chains, some new notes and a handbag.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Suprintendent Dolapo Badmos, warned Nigerains to be careful on the internet because scammers are on the prowl worldwide.
The suspect has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigations.

John Legend writes an open letter to US President Obama

Singer John Legend  wrote an open letter to President Barack Obama begging him “to bring justice to the thousands of families of non-violent drug offenders” before he leaves office because he wasn't sure the Trump administration would do anything about it. Read his letter below:
“First of all, I would like to thank you for your friendship and for your outstanding service to our country,”
the singer wrote in the letter, published by Rolling Stone. “I’m particularly grateful for the concrete steps your administration has taken to provide opportunities to tens of millions of young people and families who have been impacted by mass incarceration.”
He expressed fear whether or not the Trump administration “will maintain this progress.”
He added:
“It is unclear what their priorities will be and when families can expect justice.”  According to a report published by the Pew Research Center on Dec. 9, Obama “has granted clemency to more people convicted of federal crimes than any chief executive in nearly 50 years.” As of Nov. 30, he’s “granted clemency to 1,093 individuals (the vast majority convicted of drug-related offenses).” In his letter, Legend later urged Obama “to consider issuing categorical commutations to bring an end to the injustice that remains in our federal sentencing schemes.”
His concluded by writing:
“Just as George W. Bush urged you to proactively address clemency on your way to your first inauguration in 2009, I am asking you to bring justice to thousands of families by granting as many clemencies as possible before you leave office.”  He added that..
“approximately 5,000 individuals are serving sentences based on prejudiced laws which punished drug crimes involving crack cocaine more severely than crimes involving powder cocaine. Rectifying these crack-powder disparities would not only correct the mistakes of the past, but could save taxpayers just over $150 million per year and keep with public sentiment about the over-incarceration and criminalization of drug crimes.”
